I walked back from school today, past the land and found myself worshiping God and praying that that would be the experience of anyone who walks past.
Matthew 9v13 “I desire mercy not sacrifice. For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

Started to pray, Lord who is this retreat for?
I have always thought christians, but hoped that non-christians may be drawn in too.
Is it for non-christians? Doesn’t seam humanly possible that non- christian teenagers would want to come to seek God. Maybe I am underestimanting teenagers and God. Lord please strech my faith.

Matthew 9v 16-17 “new wine into new wineskins” Have we got the focus back to front?

One of the most exiting discoveries of the Christian walk has to be that God has a purpose for your life. It doesn’t matter what went on before because however, washed up or useless you feel God has a purpose.

It gets even better because God then equips you with the gifts you need for that purpose. In Ephesians 4 v 12 we read:

for the equipping of the saints for the work of the ministry

The word equipping is used to describe a making fit, making fully qualified for service, ultimately it means “setting a bone” as in surgery. In other words it is recovering your wholeness so that you will be operating fully.

Isn’t that exciting. God will equip you to do whatever He calls you to do. Answer His call.

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2 v 10

God’s will has a purpose, a purpose God prepared beforehand. Before conversion, blown and tossed about by the wind, after conversion, balance, symmetry and order.

Discover your purpose. And find that order.

In Him, we were also chosen, haing been predestined according to the plan of Him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will. Ephesians 1 v 11

God’s purpose is to offer salvation to the world, just as He planned to do long ago. God is sovereign, He is in charge. When your life seems chaotic, rest in this truth. Jesus is Lord and God is in control. God’s purpose to save you cannot be thwarted, no matter what evil Satan may bring.

We probably all need to hear that one daily, but right now that is refreshment to my spirit.
